Kim Evans talks about body cleansing

Cleanliness is Next to Godliness? Me Too?

You’ve heard the expression that “cleanliness is next to Godliness.” But where did it come from? Did anyone ever tell you that it had to do with the state of your bedroom or the mess you left in the kitchen? In all seriousness, have you ever considered the possibility that it might have something to do with the state of your body?

You may have heard that fasting is a method to deeply cleanse the body. I’m sure you’ve also heard that Jesus, Buddha, and many other spiritual greats undertook prolonged fasts before they began their teachings.

But did you ever put these two things together? Did you ever consider that these great spiritual men were cleansing their bodies internally to obtain or enhance their spiritual connection? And if that’s the case, does it mean that accumulated toxicity in the body in some way hinders our spiritual connection? I actually believe it does.

Have you noticed that the downfall of Adam and Eve in the Bible was directly related to the foods that they were eating? It’s kind of funny, but they were told not to eat that apple. And yet they did. So, according to this story, putting the wrong foods in their bodies was the literal cause of their fall from grace. If there is merit in this story, what do you think the consequences are of putting pesticides, food colorings, preservatives, genetically modified foods, and anti-freeze in our bodies? Believe or not, the primary ingredient in anti-freeze is common in personal care products and in many “snack” foods.

Cleanse Book

And if two thousand years ago, Jesus felt the need to cleanse his body deeply by doing a forty day fast, what does this say about the average person’s toxicity condition today? Two thousand years ago, pesticides and herbicides didn’t exist in our foods, soil, or water. Two thousand years ago, genetically modified ingredients weren’t in seventy percent of the processed foods available. Come to think of it, two thousand years ago, there were likely very few processed foods around and certainly nothing like the highly chemical ones on the shelves today. Yet, Jesus still felt the need to do a prolonged and deep cleanse.

Cleansing is just a way to remove all of that toxicity from our bodies. Fasting is one way to cleanse. A cleanse diet, if you’re not up for fasting, can also be helpful. Colon and liver cleansing physically remove a great deal of stored waste from our bodies – and are extremely powerful detoxification methods. In fact, these days I think both are essential, if you want to touch the levels of toxicity that are truly hidden in there. When you cleanse using these methods, you’ll actually see how much filth comes out of you. You might be stunned, but when you see it for yourself, you’ll begin to understand how much toxicity people carry in their bodies these days. And when you see it, it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to deny.
